Very large scaffolds can be moved easily using a series of airskates, without the need for dismantling. Airgonomics successfully moved 4 x 65 Tonne scaffolds during works on the base hangar at RAF Brize Norton. The scaffolds measuring 40m x 30m x 25 m high were moved a total of six times along the length of the hangar. Each move carried out in 2 days saved approximately 20 weeks in labour dismantling and rebuilding of the scaffold. Once floating on the airskates, the scaffolds were simply pushed to the next position therefore avoiding any delays to maintenance work on the ceiling.
